Welcome to my blog. I cannot say it will always be positive nor will it always be happy but it is life. God does not give us an guarantees in life except that He will love us, provide for us and take care of us. My life has taken turns I would never have anticipated but through God's grace and love I continue on my journey, one step at a time.

What a week!

It has been quite a week and one I definitely DO NOT want to repeat...ever!

Dustin's parents were in a motorcycle accident a week ago today. Praise the Lord because they are both alive and well. However, they have a long haul ahead of them. Mom was treated and released from the hospital about 5 hours after the accident. We had called friends to get her and bring her to the hospital where Dad was airlifted. Mom has a road rash and a lot of bumps and bruises. She also found out she has a broken rib. Dad has 2 broken collar bones, 8-9 broken ribs, 2 punctured lungs (one chest tube draining blood and fluid, all better now), a torn spleen that healed itself. Mom went back to the hospital Sunday morning and did not leave until Wednesday when they both came home. It is amazing that after such a terrible accident Dad is home so soon! They are still having a lot of pain but they are home and well.

A car turned in front of them when they were going about 50 MPH. Dad tried his best to stop safely but the bike wobbled and went into a skid. He was thrown from the bike and landed face down in the middle of the road. Mom somersaulted down the road with the bike. It was their third ride on his brand new Harley.

It has been a very stressful, emotional and tiring week. Dustin and I are battling sickness right now. We are finally home, together for more than 15 minutes without sleeping.

Augge also had some problems this week. When I got home he was shaking his head and scratching his ears a lot! Tuesday morning when I checked him he had to big lumps on his ears. I assumed he was bitten because that is what happens since he is allergic to bees so I have him a Benedryl. He continued to shake and scratch so Tuesday night off the the vet's we went. The vet thought he might have ruptured blood vessels and could possibly have surgery. However, he agreed Augge was bitten so he got a shot. He then looked inside the ears and found an ear infection. We had a really hard time getting his ears cleaned out and medicine put in because of the pain he was experiencing. Poor baby cried off and on and always when I out medicine in his ears for the next few days. He also was quite drowsy and out of it due to the shot for his bites. He is much better now. He still does not appreciate me putting medicine in his ears twice a day but he is better since it does not hurt as bad.

I am glad this week is over!
